New OMHA Peewee House League FAQ

Jun. 12 - 2019

NEW OMHA Peewee House league FAQ

Q: Is this similar to the RHL?

A:  No, more similar to Atom house as you get 2 practices and all games are in Okotoks.

Q: Are the practices going to be consistent times?

A: Not exactly but way more consistent than travel, the House teams will rotate through 6 practice slots. This allows alone practices for 1/3 of the time. There will be one morning rotation spot. There will be more shared than travel BUT no Stavely or Black Diamond and far less mornings. Also will be fairly consistent for those who want to enjoy other sports.

Q: If I choose travel do I get to play travel

A: NO, if you choose house you get to play house. If you choose travel you will evaluate for our 5 Mixed travel CAHL teams. if unsuccessful then you will return to house. Similar to the Atom House format.

Q: Is Peewee going to be tiered like Atom is, A and B?

A: unfortunately no, are ultimate goal is to get Peewee to there but this first year with 5 or 6 teams we will pick them all equal. Tiering would force teams to play the exact same 2 teams all season and be a scheduling nightmare. OMHA will get there.

Q: will we get the same evaluation ice as the travel teams.

A: yes, besides maybe the team selection skate. But in saying that House teams may be picked faster which means they may get an extra practice or 2 before the travel peewee teams are picked.

Q: can we request to play with a friend or neighbour.

A: Some requests can be accommodated for siblings, driving options etc but the most important factor we use to pick teams is having them equal and too many requests does not allow that,  no guarantee
