Health and Safety

The Health and Safety director is a new position brought in by OMHA to help achieve the highest level of safety for our children while playing a sport they love.  The safety page will be a link for health and safety resources and forms.
OMHA is also excited to be undertaking some new safety initiatives this upcoming season.  Once those initiatives are approved and ready to begin they will be added to this page.  Stay tuned!
Please check back regularly for updates and new links.

HeadCheck Health:
For more information for Bantam level coaches, safety coaches, managers and parents on our new concussion management system,  here is the link to HeadCheck Health.  This new initiative that OMHA is trialing this year will improve the overall concussion care that our athletes will receive.  It will allow our association to monitor concussions at a high level and ensure our standards are being met.  This is another step forward in achieving our vision statement of "being a leader in fostering an environment where anyone can enjoy the game of hockey in a SAFE, fun and sportsmanlike environment.
Summit Sport Physiotherapy and Lifemark Health:

Starting this fall, Summit Sport Physiotherapy and Lifemark Health are proud to provide OMHA Oilers athletes with an elite level of sport medicine support. With the help of your Safety Director and Safety Coaches we have designed a program to keep the Oilers in the game!

When injuries do occur, our team of Sport Medicine Physicians, Physical Therapists, Kinesiologists, and Diagnostic Imaging Specialists will offer your athlete:

- Fast and direct access to assessment of sport related injuries and concussions

o Email to get your athlete into the clinic right away

- Prompt communication with parents, coaches, team trainer, and family doctor (with athlete/parent permission), outlining:

o A clear description of the nature of the injury

     o Treatment plan

o Booking for more advanced testing or assessment (if required)

o Time frames and associated costs for a safe return to sport

- Sport specific return to play planning and testing

You can find more information on this program, by following the link to *Sport Medicine Program*, or by emailing

The fees for services received through this program are the patient’s responsibility. Most of our clients submit these fees to their extended health coverage - we will provide a detailed receipt for any submissions.
