Coaching Clinics


Please review the attached schedule (Coach Education Requirements) to determine the coach education requirements for each division.  In particular, please note:

1)  Coach 1 is not a prerequisite to Coach 2;

2)  Novice and Initiation Coaches are only required to have Coach 1 - Intro to Coach;

3)  Atom through Midget Coaches are only required to have Coach 2 - Coach Level;

4)  Novice and Initiation Head Coaches returning this season that already have "Coach 2 - Coach Level" from last year or earlier are not required to take "Coach 1 - Intro to Coach";

5)  New Novice and Initiation Head Coaches who only take Coach 2 - Coach Level THIS year will not meet the requirements as a Head Coach as listed in the table. 

6) Atom through Midget Coaches are required to have Checking Skills;

October 24 / 25, 2018 - OMHA Goalie Coach Clinic

We are hoping that each and every OMHA team (novice through midget) is able to dedicate one coach to also being the part time goalie coach for their team.  This coach will hopefully be a point of contact for the goaltenders, have some basic knowledge and will spend some time working on goalie specific movements and drills in practice with the goaltenders to help with their development.  To help these coaches with this initiative we have set up an evening session (2.5 hours) to help train the coaches on what they need to know so they feel more comfortable in this role.  We are hoping that the goalie coaches for novice and atom can sign up for the Oct 24th session and the peewee, bantam and midget coaches can sign up for the session on Oct 25th.  The registration link can be found here for registration:
