Registration options for Peewee:
Option #1: Peewee (2006-2007)
Travel - Central Alberta Hockey League Link to CAHL
Players can choose the travel option on the registration page. Travel is tiered teams that play in the Central Alberta Hockey League (CAHL). Evaluations will take place in September where players will be ranked then have the opportunity to skate for the head coach and be placed on one of the rosters for the CAHL teams. Depending on registration numbers, some players may be moved to one of the Rockies Hockey League teams if the CAHL rosters are full. Visit the CAHL website to see where the Okotoks Peewee teams travelled last season. Each team will have 2 practices during the week and 1 or 2 games on the weekend. Some of the practices will be in the morning and some of the evening practices will be in Black Diamond, Stavely or Blackie.
Option #2: Peewee (2006-2007) RHL
Rockies Hockey League Link to RHL
Players can choose the RHL option to play on a Rockies Hockey League team. There is less travel with opponents in Cochrane, Canmore, Airdrie and Chestermere. Evaluations will take place in September where players will be split into tiered teams. Due to this change, there will less opportunity to request placement on a team with another player. Each team will have one shared practice during the week in one of the local Okotoks rinks with games on the weekend. As a result, the registration cost is less than the CAHL travel option. Teams may enter tournaments and play additional exhibition games, with costs to be determined and collected by individual teams. For more information, contact the OMHA Rockies Hockey Peewee Director. Option #3: Peewee AA
Okotoks Oilers Athletic Association Link to OOAA
Any player wishing to try out for the Peewee AA teams must first register and pay for Peewee through OMHA. Once you have completed your registration with OMHA, you can sign up for any camps or tryouts that OOAA is offering. The Peewee AA teams play in the South Central Alberta Hockey League.
